Eradicating FGM

Female Genital Mutilation / Cutting (FGM) is a practice that involves partial or total removal of the external female genitalia or other injury to the female genital organs for the cultural or other non therapeutic reasons (WHO 2000).

The FGM practice violates human principles notably the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The Convention on Elimination of all forms of Discrimination Against Women and the Convention on the Rights of Child (WHO, 2008).
